Thursday is not too early to start partying for Sunday’s Super Bowl — especially if you’re helping those in need while you get your kicks. The Florida Athletes Ball at Jungle Island (1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami), hosted by AAG Foundation and Foxx Entertainment, will give you the chance to party with celebrities and hand off some dollars to a few deserving causes. Among the many famous folks expected to be suiting up for the soiree are actor/musicians Jamie Foxx and Ludacris and athletes Julius “Dr. J” Erving and Ray Lewis. The event, which kicks off at 9 p.m., will serve as a fundraiser for the family of Sean Taylor, an NFLer who died in a gun accident in 2007, and the families of Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith, and Will Bleakley, three former football players who were lost at sea nearly a year ago. Funds will also be going towards the Haiti Relief Fund and AAG Foundation. MeMpHiTz of BET will emcee. Tickets cost a steep $249 (remember: charity). Call 678-436-5606, or visit fabevent.eventbrite.com.
