A Day to Remember

A stiff man we’ll call Mr. Taut plans to right a few wrongs this Sunday. For today, our Monday-through-Friday nine-to-fiver will finally join the drinking class.

So, at noon, Mr. Taut will gleefully be splashing around in the pool at Exit 66 (219 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach, Fort Lauderdale). Always a working man, he did his research: Exit 66 has pool parties every weekend and for holidays such as these, the pool is open for business on Monday. Every Saturday there is a $500 swimsuit contest. But, on this particular Sunday, there will be a special DJ set by K-OS. But what sold Mr. Taut was (at time of print) Exit 66’s latest Facebook status. Exit 66 describes itself as having “a sexy dirty rock ’n’ roll atmosphere.” It’ll be “a party that will blow you away!” I want to be part of that, he said. $10. Visit exitsixtysixnightclub.com.

At 9 p.m., our poor chap will finally go to prom — it’s the 4th Ever Respectable Street ’80s Prom, and Mr. Taut will dress the part. Mr. Taut hopes to win the prize for best-dressed “king,” and is eager to stand beside his “queen.” So he caught up on the classic ‘80s films Pretty in Pink and Say Anything — he’s wearing a gray trench coat and a pair of white crocodile-skin shoes. The punch is spiked — and it’s time for him to wobble over to the ballroom-covered archway for his cheesy prom photo. No cover. Visit respectablestreet.com
