A Halloween Treat

If women shaking their hips majestically in such serious repetition hypnotizes your soul and gets your heart pumping, shimmy down to Lotus Dance Studio on Saturday for the dark and the gothic belly dancers. We were privileged to watch them perform a couple of weeks ago -- and never were we so transfixed. Belly dancing is hot and alluring. And the gals from Lotus focus on the tribal style, which gives it that dark oomph. They were so seductive, it was scary... or was it so scary, it was seductive... For Lotus in the Bayou, they'll transform the studio into a bewitched swamp where all creatures of the night dance darkly. Their dance and dress will be vampiric in ways -- it'll be theatrical and intense. And the night will kick off at 7 with a VIP cocktail party that'll feature special zombie juice and vampire-blood concoctions to quench the thirst -- on the invite for its annual Halloween extravaganza, Lotus welcomes all vampires, shape shifters, and even the darkest faeries. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. Pay $15 in advance or $20 at the door (the VIP party costs an additional $5 in advance or $8 at the door) at the Lotus Dance Studio (inside the Holiday Plaza, 9117 Taft St., Pembroke Pines).
