A Night of Mantastic Fashion

At first glance, a benefit honoring Broward County's leading men for a night of fashion and honorary style might throw some off. When has society valued men's fashion over women's in all its manrific glory? The Galleria's Men of Style Shopping Night returns Wednesday, bringing ten of the county's most prominent men to the runway dressed in stylish garb for a strut on the catwalk. These manly participants each represent a charitable organization or nonprofit group. In its sixth year, "Men of Style" offers eventgoers a night of fun, food, libations, valet parking, and discounts to 30-plus retailers, benefiting groups such as the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, ArtServe, HANDY, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The audience is invited to cheer as manhood goes on parade. WPLG news anchor Jason Martinez will host the evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Galleria of Fort Lauderdale, located at 2414 E. Sunrise Blvd. General admission is $50; VIP is $75 and includes a wine reception from 5 to 6 p.m. at Truluck's. Call 954-564-1036, or visit fortlauderdaleconnex.com/society.
