A Really Bad Hair Day

Though the fictional character of Sweeney Todd was created in 1846, it’s understandable why people would still be sympathetic to the story of the killer hairstylist. Barbers are under a lot of pressure: If one of their clients has a bad hair day, it could result in an actual psychotic breakdown. What if some split end-sporting strumpet just snaps and goes on a killing spree? Who would want that on their conscience? In Todd’s case, it was better to be the murderer than the murderee; so he got the jump on his customers and turned them into meat pie — all in the name of love.

Think your barber has a bit of a mischievous look in his eye? Well, keep him away from the new production of the musical Sweeney Todd; you don’t want him getting any big ideas. It hits the Kravis Center (701 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach) Wednesday night. Tickets start at $24. Shows run at 2 and 8 p.m. Visit www.kravis.org.
