Drawing inspiration from books by Pier Paolo Pasolini, Amado Mio is an Italian show written and directed by Massimo Stinco that encapsulates nostalgia, adventure, thrill, war, music, and sexuality all in one. The story follows a teacher and his three students during the summer of 1944 as they escape WWII by vanishing into the countryside, seeking refuge from American soldiers. The four of them immerse themselves in the joys of nature, as each character experiments with feelings of love, friendship, and passion while discovering their sexuality and dreams. Brought to you by the Italian theater groups Il Takko & Viceversa Teatro, Amado Mio will be featured through Sunday at Andrews Living Arts, located at 23 NW Fifth St. in Fort Lauderdale. Showtimes are Thursday and Friday at 8:30 p.m., Saturday at 3 and 8:30 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $25 for seniors and $30 for adults. Visit andrewslivingarts.org, or call 800-838-3006.
