A Thanksgiving Without Gluttony?

Listlessness, bloating, shame brought on by consuming an entire Publix pumpkin pie in a single afternoon: The Thanksgiving hangover can be brutal business. Health-minded folks can instead take a pilgrimage to the raw/vegan Thanksgiving Day feast at Hippocrates Health Institute. A menu of unturkey loaf, harvest tempeh, stuffed mushrooms, cranberry relish, and stuffing will be accompanied by music performed by keyboardist John Bolus and jazz violinist Richard Wetmore. Check-in and an informational tour are 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and hors d'oeuvres will be served from noon to 1 p.m. The "rawsome" buffet is 2 to 4 p.m. All activities will be hosted at Hippocrates Health Institute, located at 1465 Skees Road in West Palm Beach. Seats cost $40 in advance or $50 without a reservation. Admission is $20 for kids 5 to 12. Call 561-471-8876, or visit hippocratesinst.org.
