An Easel, a Beer, a Masterpiece

Clear the creative cobwebs with a frothy microcrafted brew in one hand and a paintbrush in the other. That’s the concept behind Paint Nite, an intimate evening of step-by-step instructional painting, stellar beers, and laughs. Don’t worry: You don’t have to be the next Picasso to attend. Local Miami artist and instructor Michelle Pruitt welcomes every skill level this evening, as she covers the subject of “elements.” Always thought you had a masterpiece inside of you but didn’t know how to get it out? Well, this nonjudgmental paint party is a great way to start. All you have to do is show up, paint, and have a good time. All painting supplies, including canvas, easel, paints, and an apron (to help protect your clothing), will be provided. This two-hour session will have a limited number of attendees, all of whom will start with a blank canvas and later walk out with their own personal magnum opus. Paint Nite takes place Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Funky Buddha Brewery, located at 1201 NE 38th St. in Oakland Park. Tickets cost $45. Visit paintnite.com, or call 954-440-0046.
