Exxxotica: Think of it as the Art Basel of the adult entertainment industry, where instead of admiring a rare Francis Bacon triptych at each expo booth, you’ll have the chance to check out a leading porn star’s boobs. Not a bad tradeoff for some. Besides the anticipated porno magazine and video displays, there will also be adult novelty toys, erotic art, swinger and lifestyle groups, sexual enhancement products, lingerie companies, jewelry chains, and beauty products vying for attendees' attention. Touted as the nation's largest event dedicated to love and sex, Exxxotica has been based out of South Beach since 2006 and is making the move north to Fort Lauderdale for the first time this year. Should come as no surprise; it’s no secret that Broward County is much kinkier than Miami-Dade, no matter how many more escorts and topless beaches our neighbor to the south has. Besides the raunchy fun at the booths, there are also seminars all week long, addressing such subjects as how to get into the adult industry, the psychological impact of submissive and dominatrix relations (based on the book Fifty Shades of Grey), and instructional speeches on reaching your lover’s G spot. This weekend of sultriness starts Friday at 4 p.m. at the Broward County Convention Center, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $39.99 to $69.99, and a three-day VIP Super Pass is $139.99. Visit fl.exxxoticaexpo.com, or call 267- 909-9760.
