Celebrate the holidays like they did back in the day in "Old Fort Lauderdale" at the second-annual Olde Fashion Family Holiday Festival. Presented by downtown Fort Lauderdale, the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society, and the monthly SunTrust Jazz Brunch, the event offers patrons an opportunity to see the return of traditions and some new additions. This year's festival will include live entertainment, historical tours, children's performances, cultural acts, dancers, and live jazz music cascading onto SW Second Avenue and the Riverwalk. Better yet, it wouldn't be an old-fashioned festival without the infamous Cake Walk or the popular Pet Costume Parade, beginning at 4 p.m. Now's your chance to show off your cute pet to the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society in exchange for a potential prize. And for those of you who need some last-minute gifts or decorations, wreath-making workshops and holiday shopping will also be featured. Complete your holiday calendar with this free and open-to-the-public festival., located in the downtown Riverwalk area in Fort Lauderdale. Parking is available at the county garage, which is within walking distance. Call 954-463-4431, ext. 15, or visit wedoevents.net or fortlauderdalehistorycenter.org.
