Anger is Funny

Despite his name, Miami-based comedian Dexter Angry is a happy-go-lucky guy who has made a name for himself with a bold and brass comedic style. This lovable dude with a heated personality headlines this month's "Who's Laughing Now Comedy Showcase" at Oakland Park's Catskills Comedy Club. As if an appearance by this rising comedic star -- who has made appearances on Comedy Central's Laugh Riots and acted alongside Miami rap diva Trina in the film A Miami Tail -- weren't enough, Angry will be joined by three other gifted quipsters on Friday. Comedians Ron Beau, Dr. Alex Morizio, and Pam Bruno join Angry on this night, taking on each other in the Catskills Comedy Club's "King of the Mic" contest. Think of this as an improvisational rap battle with lots of laughs thrown in; calling it the 8 Mile of comedy wouldn't be far-fetched. This night of hilarity takes place Friday at 9 p.m. at the Catskills Comedy Club, located at 840 E. Oakland Park Blvd., located in Oakland Park. Tickets cost $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
