You can't kick the people who run puppy mills in the crotch or set all the boats that speed through the waterways and run over manatees on fire. That feeling of powerlessness can be aggravating, almost as aggravating as the animal abuse itself. But Dr. Andrew Kirschner has organized a proactive outlet for that rage: the March Against Cruelty. It's the first of many marches to kick off all around the country. It's free to participate and only 1.7 miles long. All donations will go toward the march expenses. You're welcome to bring signs advocating whatever stance you have against animal cruelty. However, due to the large crowds, pets should be left at home so they're not accidentally trampled. The march begins at noon sharp on Saturday at Huizenga Plaza, at 32 E. Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. The march will last 30 to 40 minutes as it heads east from the plaza along the historic riverfront and behind the Broward Center and then wraps around back at Seventh Avenue.
