In the era of the nerd, everyone’s trying to claim a slice of the geek pie. Real nerds, however, don’t need to reiterate their status; they just are. And a bona fide geek will be certain to catch every reference on the wall at the Nerdcore Fandom Group Art Show, opening Friday and continuing through February 5 in West Palm Beach. Geek out with pieces inspired by nerd deities like videogames, Star Wars, comic books, anime, manga, and old-school cartoon characters (including the classic animated Transformers series). The show will feature work by more than 30 artists from South Florida and beyond. The opening for Nerdcore Fandom Group Art Show is 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at Ink and Pistons Tattoo & Slushbox Art Gallery, located at 2716 S. Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach. There’s no cost to attend. Call 561-832-4655, or visit inkandpistons.com.
Fri., Jan. 4, 7-11 p.m., 2013
