We’re into movements (who isn’t?). We were into Picasso’s Blue Period, and we were into Andy Warhol’s pop art, and we’re into what’s been going on for almost three years right here in downtown Fort Lauderdale: an art/music event called “Dialect.” And the theme for this artistic soiree Thursday is called — appropriately — “Movement.” So go explore the realm of music, dance, video, and performance art at the Fort Lauderdale|Museum of Art (1 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale) from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday. Besides the art, Oceans Deep, a Miami DJ, will collaborate with Twilight Notes, a local full-service music consulting firm, for this event, showcasing a “case study in Afro, Latin, and house rhythms.” Drinks and snacks will be provided at a cash bar on the Museum’s Peck Sculpture Terrace. Admission is free. Join DJ Adam Foster, Twilight Notes founder, at YOLO’s O Lounge (333 E. Las Olas Blvd.) in downtown Fort Lauderdale for the official afterparty immediately following the event. The first 50 guests at the “Dialect” event will get a free drink during the afterparty. Visit twilightnotes.com/events.
