Of all the lessons learned from the 1970’s body switch-up comedy Freaky Friday, starring lesbian icon Jodie Foster, the one that sticks out is being yourself is always much better than trying to be anyone else.

So while you’ve dreamt of switching bodies with the responsible girl, spending her Friday night balancing her checkbook and watching the latest Suze Orman lecture, deep down you know it’s much better to be your usual three-drink-minimum self, swapping digits on the dance floor with whomever is asking. During the new girls’ night, Freaky Friday at Karnival Beach Club, there’s no shame in your game. This beachside lesbian bash includes drink specials, sexy Karnival dancers, DJs spinning hip-hop and reggaeton, and three floors of parties. Doors open at 10 p.m. at 900 E. Sunrise Lane in Fort Lauderdale. There’s no cover. Call 954-588-3363, or visit myspace.com/karnivalbeachclub.
Fridays, 10 p.m. Starts: May 22. Continues through Jan. 1, 2009
