Mom always told us never to get in bed with strangers. But what if it's for a good cause? The Pineapple Grove Arts District in Delray Beach will be packed with teams of people pushing metal-framed beds down the street -- all to raise money for eight local charities. The crowd also gets to participate in the event by voting on teams, much like in horseracing. So if you catch wind of this before the day of the race, vote. Tickets cost $10 for seven tickets, which gets you seven votes. The "Battle of the Beds" race takes place at 6 p.m. Saturday on Second Avenue. Stick around for DJ M, the voice of the Miami Heat, to host a Halloween costume contest. Finally, the weekly Friday Night Concert Series, featuring the Hard Liquor Band, will begin in Old School Square at 7:30 p.m. Visit pineapplegrovebedrace.com.
