Broadway in Broward

The Broward Center is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a big, snazzy spectacle, Cirque Dreams Broadway, which blasts you down memory lane on a rocket. It’s the Cliff’s Notes of Broadway hits, with revivals of songs from The Phantom of the Opera, Fiddler on the Roof, Cats, Hairspray, Chicago, La Cage Aux Folles, and a dozen more. Creator and director Neil Goldberg has mustered a marching band and a world-class cast, including famous actress Linda Eder and three-time Tony Award nominee Marc Kudisch. The world premiere of Cirque Dreams Broadway is on Thursday at 8 p.m. in the Au-Rene Theatre at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts (201 SW Fifth Ave., Fort Lauderdale). Tickets cost $19, $39, $59, $79, or $99. Call 954-462-0222, or visit browardcenter.org.
