Start with a park; throw in a handful of friends and family; sprinkle some stars in the open night sky; add some of the most popular rock tunes from the ’80s and today and you’ve got yourself a recipe for one memorable night — Weston’s Ninth Annual Free Concert in the Park. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come hear Christopher Cross, a five-time Grammy Award winner, sing hits like “Sailing” and “Ride Like the Wind.” Don’t miss one of the most iconic rock bands from the ’80s, Starship: Featuring Mickey Thomas, as they perform hits like “We Built This City” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.” Children can enjoy the evening too with the park’s largest playground close to the stage. Food concessions will be available, but no alcohol is permitted. Performers take the stage from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Weston Regional Park, located at 20200 Saddle Club Road in Weston. Admission is free. Call 954-389-4321, or visit
