Clarence Clemons is a man who has made his mark several times over. From his most notable role as E-Street Band saxophonist to countless other musical endeavors (Twisted Sister!), movies, television, and an autobiography, the South Florida resident known as the Big Man is a multimedia entertainer of the world. But for the local nonprofit Home Safe which helps abused and neglected kids in Palm Beach County Clemons is the host and namesake of its annual event, this Saturdays Clarence
Clemons Classic gala and auction. The event features live and silent auctions, a high-energy performance by artist Michael Israel, and, of course, some good old-fashioned jammin.
The classic kicks off at 6 p.m. at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood). With a financial goal of half a million smackaroos, tickets cost $300. So wake up early and mow a few extra lawns. Call 561-383-9800, ext. 1239 or visit clarenceclemonsclassic.org.
