Conquer Your Inner Buddha

Ham-sa. Breathe in. Breath out. Slowly. You’re doing good. Now continue to chant your meditation phrase, because you’ll need it. On Saturday, the pudgy man himself, Buddha (not Santa), will smile down upon you as you purposefully contort your body into pretzel-like positions that the Indian Kama Sutra originally intended for sex. Don’t worry: Other attendees of the fifth-annual “West Palm Yoga Day” at the Meyer Ampthitheatre aren’t going to giggle when you go into the downward dog.

Make sure to get there early — the doors open at 8:30 a.m. — because there are 14 full yoga classes to sweat your way through. Try Vinyasa Flow to apply the breathing techniques you practiced at the beginning of this description and learn to hold your warrior pose like a champ. The entire yoga festival — which draws a crowd up to 1,500 — is free and ends at 5. Visit, or call 561-281-5895.
