Counterculture Convergence at the Bootlegger

Indie-electro DJs from West Palm to Miami are teaming up for a new monthly night of eccentric beats, billed as a "counterculture" music event for folks looking to stray from the mainstream SoFla club scene. The event, dubbed "Smash Culture," will throw its grand opening on Saturday night at the Bootlegger in Fort Lauderdale. The "smash-up" features DJs Marvelous Kendall from Flaunt in West Palm Beach, Lindersmash from Green Room in Fort Lauderdale, and the folks from Jolt Radio in Miami, all groovin' in one space together. The soiree will also feature visuals in the form of projection screens, LCD displays, and live dancers, not to mention the baller view of the Intracoastal offered by Bootlegger. It's going down starting at 10 p.m. at Bootlegger (3003 NE 32nd Ave., Fort Lauderdale). Entry will cost $5. Call 561-376-4888, or visit
