Craft beer isn’t just for breakfast anymore — it’s also fighting cancer. Well, sort of. If you need a noble reason to check out the Coconut Creek brewporium World of Beer, with its dozens of exotic hops and daily rotating draft offerings, Tuesday would be the night to visit. That’s when the venue will play host to a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in anticipation of the April walk in Quiet Waters Park. Women of the Moose 600, a local fraternal order, is hosting this second-annual fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting the relay. This officially designated “Rising Star Team” has raised more than $1,200 of its stated $5,000 goal, which it hopes to reach through events like this one. Attendees can enter a live raffle (eight tickets for $5, 20 tickets for $10) to win gift certificates/merchandise credits from companies such as Cracker Barrel, Row Eleven Wines, and Southern Tier Brewery. Last year, the Women of the Moose turned out about 50 new visitors in addition to World of Beer’s participating regulars; help them beat that number this year for a cause that has impacted us all. The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. at World of Beer, located at 4437 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek. Call 954-984-0300, or visit worldofbeer.com/locations/coconut-creek.
