Cue the Violin

Considering the quality of music that fills the airwaves, it’s likely that your intellect could use some sonic relief. And, we all know, the people in Haiti need some relief as well. Tonight’s Live Arts Florida event featuring Mark O’Connor will provide relief for both your mind and our friends on the island.

O’Connor is a violin virtuoso. Though, unlike most players who carry that label, this dude can get down. His amazing musical journey has taken him from dusty jams with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to divine classical space with Yo-Yo Ma, and he has picked up a heap of awards (including two Grammys) along the way. He may be the most sophisticated musician to ever move in cowboy boots and the most fun musician to ever move music snobs. Now, with your help, he’ll be moving some much-needed funds toward Haiti. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place at WCHS Theatre (2101 Greenview Shores Blvd., Wellington). Ticket costs $30 to $35, with discounts available for members, students, and seniors.
