Culture at the Casino

We're guessing that most people who frequent the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino are more concerned with drinking, gambling, and partying than paying respect to the owners' tribal heritage. We get it: Those slots and girls on mechanical bulls can be rather distracting. Well, if you're interested in paying homage to the tribes that once ran South Florida, the Hard Rock is hosting the 42nd-annual Tribal Fair. This three-day event will feature alligator-wrestling shows, Native American dance troupes, crafts, fashion shows, and folk-music performances. The weekend's events will culminate Sunday with a concert by the Bellamy Brothers at 1 p.m. Admission is free to all events -- including the concert. Gates open Friday and Saturday at 9 a.m. and close at 9 p.m., Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is an alcohol-free family event.
Fri., Feb. 8, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sat., Feb. 9, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sun., Feb. 10, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., 2013
