DAG-Nabit

The average lifespan of a show on Comedy Central is only slightly longer than that of the common housefly. So when they pulled the plug on David Alan Grier’s Chocolate News just two months after its debut, it wasn’t too surprising. Fortunately for Grier (or DAG, as he’s known), he didn’t put all his comedic eggs in that particular basket – and sketch comedy isn’t his only schtick. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, DAG’s quite the versatile actor, having performed in Broadway musicals (The First, Race), radio dramas (NPR’s Star Wars), and the place where everyone seems to end up at some point, Dancing with the Stars. Of course, he’s still mostly known for his various roles on In Living Color. “Two snaps up!”

DAG performs Thursday through Saturday at the Improv Paradise Live (5700 Seminole Way, Hollywood). Tickets cost $25, plus a two-drink minimum. Call 954-981-5653, or visit improvftl.com.
