Week after week, Americans tune in to watch Dancing With the Stars waiting to see which celebrity will make it to the next round of the tango. However, there is only so much excitement to be had over a bunch of reality-TV stars. It'd probably be more fun to cheer on some local celebrities as they battle it out with their drag-queen dance partners in a choreograph-style competition. Held at the Epic Theater inside the Manor (2345 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors) Dancing With the South Florida Stars II takes place on Monday. Diva and Philip Alexander will be your hosts for the night, while Pepper Mashay, Marvin Nathan, and Misty Eyez will be making the dance-floor cuts. There will be nine sets of couples, including Broward State Attorney Chris Mancini with Kevin Aviance and the Manor’s own Gary Santis with Erika Norell, sambaing their asses off. At 6 p.m., a silent auction and cocktail party kick things off, and at 7 p.m., the dancers will start cha-chaing the night away. General admission is $10, or $40 for VIP. Tickets can be purchased at guymag.net. All proceeds will go to those living with HIV/AIDS through the Brian Neal Fitness and Health Foundation. Call 954-626-0082, or visit themanorcomplex.com.
