Digging into a lavish feast on a college campus seems counterintuitive, yes, but there will be no ramen noodles or Hot Pockets in sight at this weekend’s JA World Uncorked, hosted on Broward College’s campus. Chefs like Paula DaSilva (1500 Degrees at the Eden Roc Renaissance in Miami Beach), Lenore Nolan-Ryan, Michael Saperstein (Rebel House), and Robyn Almodovar (of Palate Party and Hell’s Kitchen fame) will provide the eats while Southern Wines & Spirits of Florida and Brown Distributing Co. handle the wine, liquor, and craft beer. The “fork and cork affair” benefits the educational programs of Junior Achievement of South Florida. New Times’ own Clean Plate Charlie will once again present awards this year for some of the best bites of the evening. JA World Uncorked is 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the JA World Huizenga Center at Broward College, located at 1130 Coconut Creek Blvd. in Coconut Creek. Tickets cost $150 each. Call 954-979-7120, or visit jaworlduncorked.com.
