The Arts Ballet Theater of Florida has brought us a season full of stunning piqué turns, relevé spins, and brisé jumps. Under the tutelage of ballet master Vladimir Issaev, this professional, international corps of dancers delighted audiences with a diverse repertoire of routines -- ranging from classics such as Petipa's Nutcracker, choreographed selections from Sebastian Bach Four Suites, and modern dances arranged by Issaev himself. Additionally, its Dr. Ouch! proved the company to be family-friendly too and not so high-brow. Based on Russian poet Kornei Chukov, Dr. Ouch! told the story of a doctor who cures animals and aims to please the kids (and the inner child in all of us). In its 16th season closer, the Spring Ballet Gala, the Arts Ballet Theater of Florida plans an evening full of excerpts from classic to neoclassic ballet pieces that promises to astound audiences. It's a one-time-only performance in Broward County. The dazzling season finale starts Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Broward Center for Performing Arts, located at 201 SW Fifth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $25. Call 954-462-0222, or visit browardcenter.org.
