Feeling Bubbly

'Tis the season of eating and drinking. But mostly drinking (no offense, eating). Beers, eggnog, the weird moonshine your uncle made; it all comes out to play during the holidays. But after a morning of the fuzzies, have you ever questioned your drinking choices? Maybe it's time to class it up. When we say sparkly, we're not talking hand-held sparklers and fireworks -- that's the wrong holiday. We mean the good bubbly. You've heard the old tale that it can be called "Champagne" only if it came from the Champagne region of France. While that word puzzle is a cham-pain in our ass, at least we still get a buzz. The upcoming installment of the Art of Wine and Food Series will be about all things sparkling wine. Taste an elite sampling from around the globe with the help of host Stephanie Miskew, who carries the audacious title of sommelier. Not in the mood for another liquid lunch? The guest chef of the month will be preparing the perfect foods to complement your palette. How's that for sparkly? The Art of Wine and Food Series presents "Holiday Sparklers" this Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, located at One East Las Olas Blvd. The cost is $40 per person.
