Feeling Lucky, Crime?

What’ll it take to bring down the sinister Dr. Dragon and his musclebound henchman, Goliath? Not much, just your average group of crime-fighting superheroes. In the comic-book-styled film Lucky Streak and the Crimefighters, local director/writer/producer Kurt Donath introduces us to a whole cast of specially powered (and costumed) vigilantes, led by the ass-kicking femme fatale Lucky Streak. While saving the planet from scheming villains is a noble cause, it’s not the type of career path most girls follow. And if Lucky Streak had grown up with a different parental example, she might have had a “normal” job. But as the daughter of the female crime-fighter Amazing Grace, Lucky Streak has merely joined the family business.

For a sneak peak, check out youtube.com/luckystreaktheseries. To see the whole she-bang, drop by Sunday at 8 p.m. to Cinema Paradiso (503 SE Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale). Admission is free, but only with an RSVP. Visit luckystreakthemovie.com.
