Despite the weather elsewhere, it is still barbecue season in South Florida. If you are over the same old backyard BBQ party, it's time to take your efforts to the water. Join Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale as it transforms downtown Esplanade Park along the New River into the ultimate backyard barbecue party, otherwise known as the second-annual Riverwalk Smoke on the Water BBQ Feast. Don't worry about bringing beer, music, or food, because all of that is coming to a park near you. As if South Florida weren't already known for its good food, festivalgoers will relish an assortment of finger-lickin' smoked and grilled bites from some of the area's best restaurants and grill masters while sipping on craft beer, grooving to live tunes, and participating in other activities suitable for the entire family. Prepare to feast from the following restaurants: Bokampers, Paradero Original, VooDoo BBQ, Champps Americana, Sweet Nectar Charcoal Grill, the Downtowner, Smokey C's Catering, and more. Step up your barbecue game on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 400 SW Second St. in Fort Lauderdale. Admission is free and open to all ages. Barbecue items cost $5 and up. Live music will be provided by the Smokin' Aces.
Sat., Oct. 11, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., 2014
