Finally, this horror of a Dolphins season nears its end. Bordering on unbearable, the year has been marred with mediocrity and poor execution at every level. The only thing left to accomplish, for lack of a better term, is to decide whether A.J. Feeley can hack it as a starting quarterback. Coach Next-in-Line-for-the-Ax gave Feeley the reins to the offense after the home loss to Buffalo, thereby affording him a final four-game stretch to prove his mettle late in the season with sights on next year. Since then, the team has lost twice, and Feeley has continued to do the thing that got him benched earlier: throw interceptions, including a bunch that were returned for touchdowns. But Dolphins brass still hope that the Oregonian is Miami's quarterbacking future. Besides, the only other option now that Jay Fiedler is out would be Sage Rosenfels, and it's obvious that he won't get his NFL shot in Miami. The equally disappointing Cleveland Browns come to town this Sunday night for the Fins' final home game of the year. Bet those boys in Bristol are thrilled with this matchup for their national telecast. If you grab a telescope and squint real hard, maybe you can catch Santa flying through the sky tonight. He has to be doing some practice runs, no? Perhaps the staff of the South Florida Science Museum (4801 Dreher Trl. N., West Palm Beach) will show you where to look during the "Night Skies Over the Palm Beaches" planetarium show at 2 p.m. Tonight is the third-longest night of the year; Comet C2003/K4 is making its closest approach to Earth; and asteroid 2001 VJ5 is doing a flyby on Mars. (Gee, NASA's real creative when it comes to naming space junk, huh?) But don't let logic-spewing scientific types talk you out of trying to see what the fat man's got in the bag. At 3 p.m., you can chill out for a doubleheader of laser shows: "Mannheim Steamroller: A Fresh Aire Christmas" and "Laser Dave Matthews!" Museum admission is $7; laser shows cost $4 extra. Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade are the most dynamic duo since Batman and Robin. Early in the season, Wade carried the Heat to the best record in the Eastern Conference, while Shaq paced himself and played second fiddle. But O'Neal's dominance came to light in a mid-December home game against the Wizards. Wade left the game for good late in the second quarter with a sprained ankle. The Diesel went on to score 25 second-half points en route to a 40-point, 12-rebound performance and a Miami victory. The duo, which Shaq has dubbed Superman and Flash, will be in action Monday night at the Triple A (American Airlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami) facing the Atlanta Hawks.
