As the spandex-clad darlings of the Miami-based freestyle movement, Exposé had all of the accolades and backstage drama that bespeaks any successful girl group. From 1984 to 1996 career highlights and lowlights went like this: (1) Broke a record held by the Supremes for having ten hits off of one album; (2)Went through two singers who both left to pursue solo careers; (3) Inspired imitators from Sweet Sensation to the Cover Girls; (4) Learned the importance of a good contract after reportedly getting only $200 a show at the height of popularity. Thankfully, its the music thats remembered, and despite what Exposé sings in, Ill Never Get Over You Getting Over Me, you never did get over them. Join the rest of the faithful when Exposé plays Voodoo Lounge (111 S.W. Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale) on Saturday after the New Times Ten Year Anniversary Party. If you go to the party (which starts at 9 p.m. and costs a meager $10, you get into Exposé for free). Call 954-522-0733, or visit www.voodooloungeflorida.com.
