When money is nonexistent, the museum is often the one reliable safe haven. This is especially true every third Thursday of the month at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale (One East Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). Patrons get in free to peruse exhibitions like the current, Quilts of Gees Bend. The BankAtlantic-sponsored night runs from 4-7 p.m., and if you feel like mingling, hang around for chit-chat, cocktails, and munchies with the Young Benefactors of the Museum of Art.
