Some anniversaries should pass unnoticed: the first time your kittens vomited up their prey, that day you failed algebra again, or any romantic landmark ending in one-half. Other, more hard-fought victories deserve to be properly celebrated and reflected upon. Planned Parenthood suggests Sunday, January 22, the 33rd anniversary of the day that popular opinion and public pressures found reward in the landmark ruling of Roe vs. Wade. Since no commemorative pregnancy parades, sex-safety street fairs, or conception-crisis carnivals have yet to be scheduled, we can safely assume Planned Parenthood of Fort Lauderdale has a monopoly on the days festivities. All are welcome to set a curious foot through the clinics rear doors and give it up for a womans right to give it up. This free event will feature refreshments, the strength of women in large numbers, a special film screening followed by an open-forum discussion on pending political issues, and a raffle! Obviously, folks, the raffle is the big hook. Besides an abundance of assorted styles of birth control, you could win matching his/hers anonymous HIV tests. Valentines Day is just around the corner.
