From Us, With Love

Booze can’t solve all of life’s problems, but at least the happy hour proceeds will go to Haitian relief efforts at the H.E.L.P. Event from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at America’s Backyard (200 E. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). God bless the fundraisers where drinking is how to support the cause; your charity donation of ten bucks will get you two free drinks, visits to the open snack buffet, and lots of entertainment. There will be a live DJ — which means dancing — art by Bluehaven Studios, and raffle giveaways (like the $100 gift card donated by Cafe Maxx in Pompano Beach). This H.E.L.P. — which stands for Haitian Extension of Love and Peace — event benefits BurnersWithoutBorders.org and PlantingPeace.org, a local charity run by Aaron Jackson. And to top it all off, America’s Backyard will give patrons a $20 gift card that they can put toward their next visit. Visit thehelpevent.org.
