The VIP culture of modern day clubs has come full circle new digs opening up in Broward still have that South Beach influence, to be sure, but these joints are also sporting a dose of down-to-Earth reality. For example: Exit 66, the newly-opened nightclub from the creators of Crobar that tempers a bit of chic with a helpin of down-home Americana.
The clubs creators call its design American kitsch: picture mud-flap pinups, hukilau-style tiki bars, vintage Easy Rider-themed VIP rooms, and a 16-foot truck tire that doubles as a DJ booth. On Monday, the club will invite country boys and gals in for an all-American Memorial Day Pool Party, pulling double duty as an in-the-biz hoe-down. Everyone gets in for free, while hospitality industry workers with a pay stub pay just $25 for all-you-can-swallow draft beer and grilled hot dogs for the duration of their stay. You could also party like a blue collar playboy and order up the VIP bottle service: 30 Pabst Blue Ribbons crammed into a champagne bucket. Ah, now thats fine living.
The party starts at noon at 219 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. in you guessed it - Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-357-9981, or visit exitsixtysix.com.
