Get Out From Under the Covers

One of a few Broward bars where you can hear original local music, Area 7 Music and Ale will host Acoustics to Soothe the Soul Thursday night, an event that will bring a variety of acts together to perform acoustic sets. Singer-songwriter Robbie Hazen, who hails from Pembroke Pines, boasts an EP of cheery pop-acoustic adult contemporary singles produced by Grammy-award winning engineer Freddy Pinero; while Fort Lauderdale’s A New Start will deliver its infectious brand of pop-punk, only unplugged. Other performers include Stefani Smerkers, Danny Sandler, Danny Gardner, Diverse Society, and Max’d on Jasmine. If the draw of hearing something other than an endless rotation of covers isn’t enough, Area 7 offers all-you-can-drink draft, well drinks, Long Islands, and cherry bombs for $20. Standard admission is $5 ($10 for the 18-21 crowd). For more info call 954-561-9134, or visit
