When Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was remade in 2005 by Tim Burton as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a little bit of cinema history died. What could Burton and crew hoped to add to the already flawless musical adaptation of the Ronald Dahl classic - especially by replacing Gene Wilder, in perhaps his most classic role, with lithe Johnny Depp. Well, you can forget all that today, as the Coral Springs Center for the Arts presents Willy Wonka, a stage adaptation that reconciles the two film versions into one play, but draws it's music from the first film. It'll be performed by the youth actors at the Coral Springs Institute for the arts, for just $18 per person, no less.
