In South Florida, we are lucky enough to experience summer weather throughout the year. So it’s a good thing the City of Fort Lauderdale is providing us with a truly epic reminder that the king of all seasons is finally on its way. It is doing it bigger than big with seven bands, a sand-castle-building competition, face-painting, chalk artists, and even more awesome stuff at the Great American Beach Party on Saturday. It’s not simply a full day packed with live music on the beach but an entire experience to help us all welcome summer with open arms. We see you, summer; come on over and give us a hug.
The Great American Beach Party is a free event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fort Lauderdale beach near A1A and Las Olas Boulevard. The all-day event will feature live music and family-friendly activities including a bounce house, a beach water slide, a vintage car show, and an art show showcasing local artists. The city is also providing a free shuttle to help with any parking hassles. Visit fortlauderdale.gov/GABP/index.htm, or call 954-828-5000.
