Gypsy Land

If there’s one word that sums up Americans’ blasé attitude, it’ s whatever. In Romany, the language spoken by gypsies, there’s a different term – wherever, or varekai. And in the language of Cirque du Soleil, Varekai is the mythical place where strange and fanciful beasts freely roam the wilderness. In its latest venture to South Florida, Cirque du Soleil leaves no costume behind, bringing along 1,000 tons of equipment. Yes, that’s two million pounds.
