But B-horror movies tell us that demons and zombies actually lurk in the backcountry and that these and other underworldly creatures feel especially welcome in the isolated log cabins that young, attractive people (ahem… New Times readers) tend to frequent. So in the interest of you, our reader, we suggest that any plans for future vacations in similarly remote locales be preceded by Bruce Campbell tutorials. If you’re already familiar with Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, and Army of Darkness, groovy! If not, we should tell you, in short, that chain saws are essential packing material. What else is going to dismember friends raped by demon trees?
But if you don’t have Netflix, Promethean Theatre offers you another chance at survival Friday. The Davie spot will present Evil Dead: The Musical, during which you can learn the art of demon slaying through song, dance, and bad jokes. Plus, the musical combines all three films, resulting in a more concise lesson.
