Have a Shot of Laughs.

Comedy may not necessarily be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of whiskey. Wild nights, rock ´n’ roll, and sleeping in the next day are more like it, right? Maybe, but the folks at the company that makes Jameson Irish Whiskey disagree. You see, they're from Dublin, a city with one of the oldest story-telling traditions in the world, which naturally lends itself to laughter and whiskey-induced camaraderie. That's the whole idea behind the 2007/2008 Jameson Irish Whiskey Comedy Tour, and based on the success of last year's embryonic event, those Dubliners are onto something.

This time around, the featured comedians include: Billy Gardell, a man who isn't afraid to use humor as a weapon; Nick Griffin, who you've probably seen on Comedy Central and The Late Show With David Letterman; Michael Loftus, think Premium Blend; and Danny Bevins, whose M.O. is to leave the audience physically and emotionally exhausted from laughter. Get tickled and pickled Thursday through Sunday at the Improv Paradise Live (5700 Seminole Way Hollywood). Tickets range from $15.90 to $19.08. Call 954-981-5653, or visit www.improvftl.com.
