Heavenly BBQ Delights

Over 100 beers to sample, the best BBQ in town and a stellar musical lineup of the grooviest blues players around, all in one place, sounds like you have died and gone to heaven? Not quite, this divine night of all-around delights is an earthly affair happening at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. The Blues, Brews and BBQ’s event this Saturday combines all imaginable pleasures and rounds them up for one spectacular night. Hernando, Mississippi’s North Mississippi All-Stars is set to headline the event. Considered the premier contemporary blues act, this heralded troupe has received many accolades in its career—including a Blues Music Award for Best New Artist and Grammy nominations for a few albums. The act’s brand of swamp stomping 12-bar blues is the perfect companion piece for a juicy and tender Lucille’s Bad to the Bone BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Save some room in that belly though, because there is plenty of grub to try from the area’s best BBQ joints. Missing Betty’s Soul Food's ribs or Dickey’s BBQ Pit’s brisket would be a travesty. Then wash down all these finger-licking treats with a few Lagunitas IPAs, or Abita Purple Haze and you will swear you are damn near close to heaven. The Sixth Annual Blues, Brews and BBQ takes place this Saturday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, located at 550 NW 40th St. in Coconut Creek. Tickets are $25 for general admission, and $50 for VIP admission. Call 954- 977-6700, or visit seminolecoconutcreekcasino.com.
