Hip-hop pub drop

The last place you’d expect to find a crew of low-tech beat artists is at the King’s Head Pub (2692 N University Dr., Plantation). It’s an old style English pub that highlights its darts and imported beer -- not usually its rappers. But that’s what GLUE is all about. This three-piece, old school, hip-hop group is altogether different from what’s clogging up the radio these days. While laptops and mixing boards are taking over, GLUE and friends break that formula and return to a time of melodic lyric-driven wordplay. They bring DJ MF Shalem, Adverse, S.K.I.P., Science Non-Fiction, and Secondhand Outfit along for the ride. The show starts at 9 p.m. and tickets are $5.
