Hip to Be There

Grab those wine-stained skinny jeans that have been crumpled on the floor since Sunday morning. Pull that stanky plaid shirt out of the hamper. Stretch your office-cramped boogie legs. It’s indie night in Deerfield Beach! Every Wednesday, the American Rock Bar (1600 E. Hillsboro Blvd., Deerfield) is taken over by party-happy DJs who serve indie and underground house while the bar serves dollar PBR tall boys. The motivation for throwing this party is simple, says organizer David Healy: “I like to see people dance.” So if it’s been too long (four days?) since your boat shoes have slid across a beer-greased dance floor or since your leggings have suffered cigarette burns, then hop on your bike and roll toward the party that’s sure to add some bump to your hump day. Doors open at 9 p.m., and it’s free to get in (18 and up for ladies, 21 and up for guys). Mustache optional. Call 954-428-4539, or visit americanrockbar.com.
