Floridians are already enduring the sticky heat of summer. Instead of crying yourself to sleep because you don’t live closer to a daiquiri bar, celebrate all that summer has to offer. The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach is hosting a Summer SOULstice Honky-Tonk from 5 p.m. to midnight tonight in celebration of the opening of the photography exhibition “Clubs, Joints, and Honky-Tonks: Photographers Experience the Music Scene,” which runs through September 30. There will be music, activities, and delicious food, as well as a drum circle with tribal dancing and an acoustic campfire with an open mic. For those not familiar with the concept of a drum circle, just remember that time Matthew McConaughey got arrested for playing bongo drums naked in the desert. This will be just like that but with more clothes and less peyote and eventual mug shots. The Norton is located at 1451 S. Olive Ave. in West Palm Beach.
