Hotter than Larry the Cable Guy, Too

By now, pretty much everyone knows that last year’s hit movie The Aristocrats was inspired by comedian Gilbert Gottfried. Gottfried had famously launched into the Aristocrats joke – a staple in all comedians’ bag of tricks – after telling an anti-PC September 11 joke that fell flat. (He said that he couldn’t get a direct flight to L.A. because the planes were stopping at the Empire State Building.)

By now, everyone also knows that Gottfried topped a list of “100 Unsexiest Men,” compiled by writers at the Boston Phoenix. The “honor” only helped to amp up Gottfried’s visibility, as he was interviewed by news outlets around the world to get his response. He told MSNBC.com, “I’m just so proud I beat out Osama bin Laden. He’s a terrorist who hasn’t bathed in a few years and I’ve still beaten him. I say: In your face, al Qaeda! If he would have won unsexiest, the terrorists would have won.” He continued, “I understand being less sexy than Osama bin Laden, but not less sexy than Carrot Top. That I find offensive.”

What people don’t know yet is that there’s a fancy new venue that’s starting to host comedians – Tickets Theatre at Gulfstream Park (901 S. Federal Hwy., Hallandale Beach). Gottfried performs Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 to $65. Call 954-457-6188, or visit www.ticketssportstheatre.com.
