House Has Found a Home

The last time the Miami Heat met the reigning NBA champs, the Boston Celtics, things didn't turn out so well for D-Wade and crew. The hometown boys were completely manhandled; getting beat up and down the paint by Ray Allen and a much more unlikely hero, former Heat guard Eddie House. House torched the defenseless Heat, putting up 25 points, including 20 in the second quarter alone. It was a career game for the undrafted veteran guard, who floated from team to team after leaving Miami in 2003 - at least until he signed with Boston before its championship season. Since that January 21 match, House has been on a tear, logging big point totals in victories over Dallas and Sacramento.

Logic says House will come home to Miami and play well again, which could be important for a Celtics squad that’s fighting injuries to key players, including Kevin Garnett. To fill some gaps, the Celts recently signed 7-foot-tall power forward Mikki Moore, and is now looking to acquire talented former New York Knicks problem child, Stephon Marbury. The moves should add extraordinary depth to an already immensely capable roster, meaning the Heat should have their hands full tonight no matter if KG hits the paint or not.

Tip-off on the latest Heat vs. Celtics bout starts at 7:30 p.m. at American Airlines Arena, found at 601 Biscayne Blvd. in Miami. Tickets run $10 and up. Get them at heat.com.
