Is This Thing On?

Calling all poets, singers, comedians, rappers, jugglers, impersonators, comedians, and — yes — even yodelers. Join host and comedian Richy Lala as he returns to the Funky Buddha Lounge in Boca Raton for an evening of laughs and drafts during the All Arts Open Mic Night and charity event. All you’ll need is $3 for an entry fee and two canned goods for a charitable donation. Then sit back and enjoy a few hours of standup comedy, poetry, and music from local artists starting at 9 p.m. Or get onstage yourself and show your stuff. The All Arts Open Mic Night takes place Wednesday at the Funky Buddha Lounge, 2621 N. Federal Highway in Boca Raton. Those interested in participating must sign up prior to the event, starting at 8 p.m. Call Funky Buddha at 561-368-4643, or visit funkybuddha.com. You can also visit richylala.com.

KEEP NEW TIMES BROWARD-PALM BEACH FREE... Since we started New Times Broward-Palm Beach, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of South Florida, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
Nicole Danna is a Palm Beach County-based reporter who began covering the South Florida food scene for New Times in 2011. She also loves drinking beer and writing about the area's growing craft beer community.
